HELLO, TRAVELER!
Have you ever wanted to play the infamous nerd game known as Dungeons and Dragons? Have you played before, or did something stop you - either you couldn't get a group together or just didn't know how/where to start because it's a big confusing mess? WELL DO I HAVE A PROPOSITION FOR YOU!
In the near future, I'm looking forward to running a series of small "oneshot" campaigns. Oneshot means that essentially, these campaigns will begin AND end in the same sitting, unlike most DnD games. This makes it a great opportunity to play the game without the usual commitment involved - no weekly meeting times, no possibly year long adventure, no fussing with your schedule. If you've wanted to try the game, but didn't want to commit to a tight schedule or if you've never really played and don't know if you'll like it, this is more or less designed for you!!! Beginners of all types and cherished and welcomed!! Bring a friend if that makes you feel more comfortable!!! I play loose with the rules because I believe having fun comes first, and I'll be more than happy to explain stuff to you, no matter how silly you feel for asking. DnD is an inherently silly game and therefore ALL questions are silly, making all questions 100% valid.
To make it as easy and fast as possible, characters for these campaigns will be pre-made, but you get to choose from a small pool of dudes before the game. Ideally, this is to take more stress off of everyone - character creation is something that can take several hours if you're unfamiliar with how to do it.
The plan is to have 3 to 4 players per session, but we might go up to five. These sessions will last about 4 to 5 hours, which sounds like a lot, but this is a self-contained story. We will finish it and end it (hopefully) within that time frame. To put things into perspective, it isn't uncommon for DnD sessions to last 8 or so hours, in my experience. The exact hours for these sessions will be agreed upon by people interested in joining on these below dates. Right now, the first is going to be a Heist type of thing, the second will be a more typical dungeon-crawl and the third... well, if you're there then you'll see.
The only thing you'll need to join these sessions is an account on Discord and a working microphone. I play staunchly by the Pirate Ruleset for DnD and if you need any source materials I will do my damndest to get them to you, free of charge. If you have a physical dice set, awesome! If not, a computer generated dice thingy will work fine or we'll install a Discord bot if you'd rather. No big deal.
The dates for these sessions are currently: Wednesday, July 27th, Saturday, July 30th and Friday, August 5th.
Please let me know if you're interested or have any questions! I'm willing to move things around if these dates don't work for you or something - just not on very short notice.
Thanks!
Note: To be clear, I'm only asking you to sign up for one of the above dates. All three are not required.
