I love making things from string, but spun yarns tend to be too soft for more heavy-duty projects like netting and macrame, SO I'm making cord instead! I'm using strips of plastic shopping bags, Which isn't ideal because of their slippery quality, but it's working alarmingly well so far. Biggest issue is how much I have to move my wrists, and the grip I have to keep on the loose end. I could be using blackberry instead, but it's either too late in the summer or I didn't process it right, because it ended up being too stiff to use and I ended up with, like, 50 splinters.
This video is a pretty good introduction to cordage as a whole, and definitely explains the process better than I could lol
